First you will need to take a large stock pot or container that can hold your turkey. You will then Place the turkey into the pot and cover with cold water. The water will cause the turkey to slowly thaw as it sits in the water.
After 30 minutes you are going to need to dump out the cold water and replace it with fresh cold water. This is going to help keep your water cool as well as eliminate potential bacteria from building up in your water. REPLACE THE WATER EVERY 30 MINUTES UNTIL DONE.
This method takes about 30 minutes per pound to defrost.
